WMCB-LP Built A Parade Float!

New trailer parade float will also serve as a remote broadcasting studio for local events

Your local Disc Jockies have been hard at work building a new parade float and remote DJ studio for WMCB-LP 107.9 FM, Greenfield. The plan is to enter the radio station's float into the annual Pride, Franklin County Fair and Winter Carnival parades, as well as be a mobile remote broadcasting studio for events such as farmers markets, the annual Vintage Day Stroll, as well as the annual Independence Day fireworks celebrations.

Radio station volunteer Mik proposed the idea at the radio committee's April monthly meeting, and DJ Vincent Dan Gogh immediately offered and planned two "build parties" in May, pictured below. In June he pushed through on his own almost nightly for two weeks. The new float was ready for the June 13th Pride Parade in Greenfield, and was a big hit. DJ Autoplay (Jetlag) purchased branded beer can coozies to hand out along the parade route. Several DJs and their friends / family walked in the parade as well, waving rainbow flags and carrying the station's banner.

Constructed on WMCB-LP DJ Dan Gohg's personal trailer, the float was built to look like a giant boombox radio, complete with big knobs and dials, and features an actual FM Receiver connected to four professional-grade theater loudspeakers donated by the Mass family of Greenfield Garden Cinemas. This thing cranks. Powered by batteries when mobile, the float can be tuned into 107.9 FM as a giant boombox radio, or serve as a remote DJ station or event simulcaster back to the station for broadcast.
