Community Radio has Returned to Greenfield
Emphasis on local community transforms Greenfield’s public access radio station
After fifteen years of broadcasting in mono, not stereo, from a short tower behind a metal warehouse, and being focused inward on DJ and other producers' shows on 107.9 FM, playing them in a continuous on-air repeat rotation, WMCB-LP has completed its broadcast equipment upgrades, and pivoted its programming focus outward to the community it serves. All work-week show reruns have been eliminated, leaving room in the schedule for new local content.
Starting in July of 2026, WMCB has begun to accept Public Service Announcements and personal shout outs from the listening audience by simply sending a short MP3 audio file via email to psa@wmcb.net
This new avenue of audio offerings includes the following:
- Local nonprofits with special services for the local public
- Local venues or organizations with upcoming events
- Local residents with messages for loved ones
This new inclusion of local residents and nonprofits into our daily schedule will spotlight the events and people of Franklin County, starting with featuring music and PSAs for families of school-age children week mornings between 6:00 am and 9:00 am, the rest of the week day featuring first-run shows, additional community PSAs, and occasional one-off feature shows.
Anyone and everyone is invited to join in the fun. Send your event notices and shout outs for the Greenfield listening area, and listen in to see if you hear someone you know!
