Become a DJ at WMCB
Congratulations on taking the first step to becoming a DJ here at WMCB!
Being a DJ is a bit of a life-style, and comes with a community of other DJs who love music (or talking) and love to share their love of it. And we love that.
Becoming a DJ at WMCB is pretty easy, but it comes with some responsibility and requirements.
First, you need to fill out paperwork (scroll down this page or go to the forms page) and pay your initial annual DJ Dues, which is only $30/yr.
Next, you need to talk to the station staff to get slotted into the weekly schedule. All DJs will get one show per week, up to two hours long. Live DJ shows must be between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm Mon-Fri. Remote DJs can be slotted in anywhere in the schedule. Talk shows will be placed in the mornings. Music shows will be late mornings and afternoons. Each weekly show will be rebroadcast at most once later in the week and possibly on the weekend, pending slot availability. You will also be set-up with a DJ page on the radio station website, which you will maintain.
Then you'll need to get trained on the equipment. There will be a one-page, double-sided hand-out to help you with this. You will also need to read the Station Handbook in its entirety.
Lastly, you will need to sign up for volunteer hours at the station for such things as reading PSAs and attending / helping at special events the station decides to hold or participate in, such as Vintage Days, etc. You will also be asked to help fund the radio station by getting a local business to sponsor your show for $200/yr.
Below you will find the forms that DJs need to fill out (or you can go to the forms page), with payment options. You will not be permitted to go on the air unless all forms are submitted and your dues are paid up.
We look forward to you joining our family!

WMCB-LP Printed Policies and Forms
These forms can be printed and either handed in or mailed. A check, money order or cash for $30 must accompany the DJ sign-up form.
Each DJ is requested to find a paid sponsor for their show, too. Getting one early on in the year is best and provides the most value. If you mention a sponsor on every show, that's up to 52 shows a year — with each show repeated at least once — for only $200. That is pretty cheap, and the money goes a long way to funding the station.
If you'd like to fill out these forms online, please visit our FORMS PAGE.
